A PORTRAIT OF FRANCES ENCLOSED

Art Craft NYC is a robust training program to help entry level individuals gain confidence on set. Its aim is to demystify the craft, and provide participants with the skills and support to become successful workers in the professional field.

Participants work in pairs to conceptualize, draft, source, budget, and present the design for a short film script. We chose “A Portrait of Frances Enclosed”, a script that tells the coming of age story of a 12 year old girl living in the midwestern suburbs in the 70’s, while also exploring her sexuality and challenging the concept she has of her parents.

We developed two main deliverables: a wrap book - with all the needs and requirements of the film - and a design deck - that conveys the entire concept, layouts of each set and the overall look and feel of the short film.
