Born in the rural landscape of Ecatzingo, State of Mexico, Acahuite emerges as a tangible dialogue between design and territory. Conceived as a habitable expression of care, the project seeks to transform everyday agricultural remnants into objects that carry both function and meaning, contributing to the improvement of a local family’s quality of life.
My intervention focused on translating ethnographic insight into material exploration, revealing the hidden potential of corn stalk as a flexible, absorbent, and resistant medium. Through a process of experimentation and hands-on collaboration, waste became resource, and craft became a language of transformation.
